Home is where it's all started...
"I'm not good in cooking or even in the kitchen" this was my sentence and I can recall this when friends told me this. But actually when we know what we want to make and getting some basic knowledge what to put together and actually TRY it, cooking with HEART, it works wonder.
I am blessing to meet few people that inspired me to try to cook and now keep encourage me to try by myself. Im very lucky to meet Yenni Then when I was in University in Bandung, as I shared apartment with her, we shared many other experiences and 1 thing that she encouraged me was cooking then we had a little project during Ramadhan time...was nice and it felt so good that the first time I ever tried making something in the kitchen turns out good and people were paying money for it!
Then I met one of the most influential yoga teacher in my path in SunYoga, Kuala Lumpur-Malaysia, Dr. Jacqueline Koay, she is really passionate about kids, family, surely yoga philosophy and cooking! She cooks and telling me what she put in her dishes that looks and taste heavenly for vegetarian meal. slowly again, I cook for myself after loooong time I thought I m not able to cook. Finally when we did 30 days Yoga Challenge, JK was telling us (all teachers) how food can affect our body and mind therefore we need to prepare the food so participants able to purchase and having a good meal. so then JK will make the meal with her maid at home, suddenly she had to go to New York for her family...so here I am...asking then??? who will cook? JK didn't say anything and rush off....I think it has to be ME :(
I tried with nerveous if people will like it or not and will they come back to get some other menus? the result is....many came back and telling me I should make it available everyday lunch time even the Challenge is over :) they love it!
Then I think I should share what I like to kids as they are the next generation and these days kids are not eating healthy food. so then, in SunYoga Holiday Programme which I arranged every December and June for 3-4 days, we will do yoga, art, music and games and cooking...and at the end cleaning :) it was joyful and kids love it too...
Now, as I m teaching in Shanghai in the past 1.5 years, I also met nice inspirational people in the kitchen, Kazu the owner of Vegan restaurant Annamaya and recently I met Louise who has 10 years experience in cooking as chef, vegan dan raw food. I m truly blessed as now I m trying some of Louise's advise on me about food combining, cooking and fasting.
Me and Louise will create a program together:
1. Yogi Lunch where you can have a nice vegan buffet and meeting similar vibes people and exchange some experiences and ideas
2. Yoga and cooking class for healing
3. Louise individual consultation
So when you have the willingness to learn there is always a way or a guidance for you...where to begin?
Begin at your desire to learn and actually do it...it does not matter what the result is, but the journey is.
Keep yourself informed with Future Events :)
